Fruit display

This is colourful and easy to make. It will look amazing on the main table of the bride and groom, not to mention, totally edible! Just cut up pieces of fruit and veggies in fun shapes or with a serrated knife. Then put them at the ends of long skewers and poke them through a foam bed or oasis in a vase. Use as many colours as you like!

Mix and Match

Scour thrift stores, discount stores and garage sales for interesting looking vases. Mix and match several colorful vases in scattered arrangements for your centerpieces. Even drinking glasses could hold single stems. Add a few colorful flower stems and you’ll have a lovely bohemian look for your reception tables.

Forget Flowers

Instead of flowers, opt for other items in vases such as peacock feathers, painted stones and carvings. By choosing things that can simply be arranged, you'll save a ton of time and have do-it-yourself centerpieces that everyone will remember.

Silver Flowers

Gather up branches, driftwood, leaves or pine cones. Spray them with metallic silver spray paint and arrange in the center of the tables. Add a few tea lights and you have a shimmering centerpiece.

Value your Veggies

Decorate your candles by wrapping them with vegetables such as green beans and artichokes. Finish off the look by tying them with a pretty ribbon. Place them on a tray and decorate with flowers matching your wedding colour scheme.

Give it Some Glow

Candles are another favorite way of putting together a simple but elegant centerpiece. You can group your candles by color and shape, or mix them up a little more if you’re good with arrangements. Many brides like to place mirrors under their candles to amplify the glow. Don’t stop at pillar candles, though. You can also dress up candles in a big way with a little presentation. Place a big white candle in a low, black bowl for a simple and elegant finish.

Cute Cupcakes

Never underestimate the power of a good cupcake. Small cakes or cupcakes artfully arranged on an attractive serving tray and decorated with small fresh or artificial flowers make a truly unique centerpiece. If you like, you can even use these as an alternative to the traditional wedding cake.

So instead of hiring the same old centerpieces that have been done time and time again, why not start months in advance and create your own unique décor that reflects your personal taste and creativity!
