All The Flowers You Will Need For Your Wedding

With so many things to consider when planning a wedding it is easy to forget the little things. While remembering to get yourself a bouquet is a given, some brides often forget that they need more flowers.

The type of wedding flower arrangements you can have is largely dependent on the size of your budget. But no matter how much you have to spend, there is an arrangement for every bride. Here are a few of the things you will need to discuss with your florist concerning flower arrangements.

Bouquets

A wedding dress without a bouquet is like Jack without Jill - it just does not seem right. The bridal bouquet can either be done in traditional white or the colour of the wedding theme. Most brides these days are opting for colour bouquets. When choosing a bridal bouquet keep in mind that you will have to toss it over your head at some point during the reception. The bridesmaids are also required to carry bouquets. Their bouquets are usually smaller than that of the bride and are the colour of the wedding theme.

Boutonnieres

This is a single flower pinned on the suit jacket of the groom and his groomsmen. The flower usually is the same colour as the colour scheme of the wedding and the same type as the bridesmaid. The groom’s father, grandfathers and ring bearer also wear boutonnieres.

Corsages

This flower arrangement is worn by the bride’s mother and both her grandmothers. The groom’s mother also wears a corsage and so does his grandmothers. Corsages are worn on the wrist.

Flower Girls

While flower girls do not usually carry bouquets they still require flowers for their services. They will need flowers for the flower girl basket, flower girl headpiece, and flower girl petals to toss.

Ceremony Flowers

Ceremony flowers are usually used to decorate the altar, aisle and guest seating area.

Reception Flowers

These flowers usually make up a huge part of the flower arrangement budget. There are many places where flowers can be used for the reception. Here is of some of those places:
  • Main table centrepiece
  • Guest table centrepieces
  • Gift table centrepiece
  • Buffet table centrepiece
  • Bar centrepiece
  • Guestbook table centrepiece
Reception flowers are the perfect place for brides to be creative. This is where the life of the theme should come together. Do not be afraid to try something different when it comes to picking your flower arrangements.
