12 months and more

  • Announce engagement
  • Plan engagement party
  • Decide on size, style and budget of the wedding
  • Set approximate wedding date and time
  • Compile the guest list
  • Book the reception venue
  • Book the ceremony venue
  • Contact the officiator to officiate the ceremony
  • Create your wedding web page
  • Book a photographer

3-6 months

  • Book a videographer
  • Select a designer for the wedding apparel
  • Select a caterer
  • Choose a florist
  • Arrange the entertainment for the reception

  • Decide on transport to the wedding and reception
  • Book the honeymoon
  • Choose the bridal attendants / retinue

Last week

  • Confirm your appointment with your hair stylist
  • Make sure all members of the wedding party know what is expected of them
  • Pack for the honeymoon
  • Pack up rings
  • Wrap wedding party gifts
  • Create a detailed schedule for your wedding day
  • Wedding rehearsal

Your wedding day

  • Eat a good breakfast
  • Have hair and make-up done
  • Give yourself plenty of time to get ready
  • Relax and enjoy the day
Once you know exactly what needs to be done, make sure your work out your wedding budget. There are a lot of things that need to be done so be sure to either hire a wedding planner or get family and friends to help you plan and prepare.
